‘Away From Home’, An Original Painting from a local artist in Accra, Ghana

Capture these beautiful women from one of many tribes in Accra walking home after collecting water. They are ‘Away From Home’ but can’t wait to return.  One woman is pregnant but has her duties.  The artist chose purple as the main color to represent femininity or feminine aspects.  These women are both resilient yet womanly. This is an acrylic painting on raw rustic cut canvas. It can be hung with or without a frame.  This artwork comes rolled up and does not include a frame.   This piece was picked up after a walking tour during the Year of Return, Ghana.  This is an emotional piece of art that displays the resilience of a great people that have survived the most accepted abuse this world has known.   What do you see?
